A Cool Breeze in Hell
Today I rediscovered The Sims. I also rediscovered the cheats to get all the money. The game got boring quickly, but I still managed to kill about 3 hours with mindless activity. I did, however, build a really kickass house. And I even got promoted. But then I got bored. I wanted to do something productive tonight, like start reading one of my books, but I have no self control. Damn you people simulator.
I'm glad that the past week and a half is over. The work load without Marla wasn't bad, but having to deal with everybody alone resembled hell. I guess that's what they mean when they say co-workers are like a cool breeze in hell. I don't know who 'they' are but my guess is that it's someone at Hallmark.
My fingernails are growing pretty fast. I used to keep up with them and try to make them all pretty but lately they've been getting out of hand and have even inhibited my typing ability. I'm handy with the back scratch and the mosquito bite scratch, but they get in the way for the most part.
Sadly, our pirahna One Eyed Jack has left us for the big fish tank in the sky. He had been kept separate from the other fish in a smaller tank used for goldfish, but I got sick of the fishy smell from the smaller tank and reintroduced him to his (much larger) old buddies. Apparently after losing an eye, Ol' Jack also lost his sense of humor because they gobbled him right up. Not right away of course, which leads me to believe there was some personal conflict between Jack and the other fish. Maybe he still held a grudge for the fish who took his eye. I guess that would piss me off too. Either way, Jack is no more and I didn't even get to say goodbye. If there was one word I could use to describe him, besides dead, food, or jackshit (heh) it would be curmudgeonly. He was like an old crabby man. Always chasing tails but never getting much action.
Anyway...I digress...
Rob is back until August 8th. So if I don't answer my phone or my door or show up to work it's because I'm ...uh... busy. Yeah. Very busy.
We STILL haven't won the lottery. But we're going to. Goddammit.
My good ol' jade plant wasn't looking so good so I thought we should just put him in more dirt, but then he toppled over and cracked the bottom part of his stem. This turned out to be a blessing because the stem was actually rotted and needed to be cut off. I've never seen a rotten stem before but it was green, squishy and nasty. Hopefully it thrives in the dirt with an all clean stem.
Wow. Why not continue with my randomness.
My first tomato has ripened but I haven't been feeling the tomato vibe. Cruel irony. The thought of them sorta makes my stomach turn right now.
I have recently acquired a distaste for the word 'actually'. As in "actually it's this..blah blah blah" ... or "actually my mom...blah blah blah". When a person starts every sentence with the word 'actually' it starts to sound like "You don't know what you're talking about and I do." or my personal favorite "I am the all-knowing and you shall listen to me now, minion." Perhaps I seem like I'm going overboard with this but ACTUALLY it's a quite real pet peeve. Lately. I'll find another one soon.
Cristy took the cutest picture of Gavyn the other day. I threw it in PS7 and tried to make something cute, but it leaves a little to be desired. Except of course for the main subject.
But anyway I am going to remove my arse from this chair and go relax for awhile. Glorious fatigue is kicking my ass. Plus, I like to sleep. And for some reason or another I keep hearing "Get all the sleep you can, while you still can" - usually followed by an evil all-knowing type grin. I'm surprised it isn't saying "Actually, you should sleep as much as you can right now...blah blah blah."
Well alright then.
